I tried a Mesa 50/50 and was very disappointed with it and swapped up for a 2:90. Absolutely no comparison. Even at low volumes (where a 20/20 is still very clean) the 2:90 is awesome. Headroom, yes, ...

Is the Goodrich powered? If so, then the line level is the way to go. If you have a mixer, so much the better, too.

It is probably noise from the computer.

First, the noise is probably "EM" radiation. It is probably not coming throught the cable. It's basically the same kind of thing you can get from neon lights a ...

Thanks y'all for the info.

Michael, thanks for the offer on the pedal, but then I would need to buy two replacement pots. I was hoping to go in the other direction!

I've finally come to the conclusion that the best tone extracted out of a Strat is with "vintage" style pickups. There are gillians of makes and models, for dirt cheap and an arm and a leg.

I keep he ...

Here is a picture of the GT-3 and the GT-5. The GT-3 can be had for under $400 and about $200 more for the GT-5.

Let me know what you think if anyone tries one out.

If you want amp modeling, like POD, (the TWIN is probably what a steeler would want),

Has anyone tried using a keyboard amp? It probably wouldn't work well without a preamp to make it sound right, so you would need something like a POD or my personal choice, the Boss GT3.

DeArmond is right. Rack and pinion all right, built to last, except for the pot.

So if I read this thread correctly, no one has built an electronic volume pedal that sounds as good as a pot?
