I used liquid electrical tape. It wears off in time, but is cheap and easy. Got it at Home Depot.

The old Presonus Blue pres have a 12ax7 tube and can be found on e-bay for under 100. They also have two channels if you are using a stereo delay.

Have you tried isolating the amp and miking? Stick it in a closet. There are actual cabinets built for studio use to isolate amps, but the closet trick works pretty well.
