Hi Brian, welcome!

Very odd issue so just a guess here. But to me it sounds like a nut problem. The strings on a steel should be at an even height across the strings so that when you apply the bar, ...

Awesome company. I recently bought a used GFI Ultra S10 Keyless and Bob very patiently answered all my questions on it. One of the plastic wing nuts on a pedalboard clamp was broken so he sent me a n ...

I corresponded with Tom just a short while.. I became a great admirer of his work and sought to acquire one of his fine instruments just a few months ago.

In the brief time I was in contact with hi ...

Thank you all for your responses.

Tom apparently has a great reputation here, does fantastic work from what I've seen (and heard on videos)... which is why I asked him to build one for me.

I'll ...

Hey fellow steelers...

Tom's working on a build for me but I haven't been able to reach him in days.

He's usually very responsive but I've received no reply from my emails, v-mails, texts, or th ...

I've always used a 22w on my Bud so like I said, adjusting the barrels to get the rods to engage at their respective points for the correct travel for both G# strings is the key. This has always worke ...

Have you looked at the barrel on the rod for that string? They can get stuck and not allow a fine tune of the rod. I would check the barrels for both rods on that pedal. I have a '73 Bud that works pe ...

Love my '73 Pro I. Still plays and sounds great. Had it over 20 years, replaced a couple barrel tuners and she stays in tune perfectly. She's a keeper. Very Happy

Nice axe Georg!

So far the solid nut hasn't given me any problems but I'm using an unwound S6. Nice workaround on the spring for a wound S6! Definitely will keep that one in mind. Also, GFI does us ...

K, thanks much for the insight on the nut. Makes sense.

You know, I've read a few things over the years about how brilliant a designer and builder Gene Fields was and now that I own a GFI I can pl ...

Thanks for the tips Bruce!! Yeah, putting rubber o-rings in the swivels sounds like a terrible idea! I mean, rubber deteriorates and where else is that gunk going to go. Rolling Eyes

Hey Daniel, yes absolutely. But I'm finding that it's not because of the overall length (I believe the scale length on both guitars are 24" and string spacing appears to be similar too). It's mos ...
