I use a "new" Princeton 65 or a Deluxe 112 (same amp with 80 watts instead of 65 watts). These are solid state amps with "dynamic" modelling. Pleanty of clean volume. | |

You can determine scale length (usually) by where the highest position markers are on the neck. 22.5" --> 29th fret 24.5" --> 31st fret 26" --> 33rd fret |

I've also seen this done when the cones were partially crushed...for the same reason, to get enough saddle angle. | |
