Those early pickups are sweet. I have a similar guitar and put new magnets in the pickup. It is easy and provides a real boost.

The asymmetrical poles in the pickup indicate an early supro/valco/national ('38-40). The tone pot on them is bass-ackwards.

The original tuner buttons would likely have been small ovals. Tu ...

When and where are these available? I added a grover nut extender (as per lessons with Troy) and it helps but a real solution would be good.

If it is any help. I owned a LS-6 for a while. Plenty of power but the pickup was noisy. I also had to loosen the bridge in order to re-string. It was not machined very precisely.
