i've used coffee grounds before. they did a decent job but the best was baking soda. i've used baking soda and vinegar to clean with also.

i have what seems to be pretty much the same oahu. i use open D and i'm using 12/54 strings but i don't remember the brand i used. no problem with the tension and playability.

Not a Valco expert by any stretch, but I would opine that's not a bad price if everything works. Especially with the brittle plastic pickup/bridge covers (and their fasteners) both intact.

many places to find them starting with stew mac. take note of the shape of the end of the shaft as you'll need to know that to order the proper ones. they will come in various shades also.
