Holy moly - is that a Lowrey?

Yes. As far as I'm concerned, it is "The Lowrey". The same model as Garth Hudson played with The Band back in the old days.

From here it looks like an S12 .

It does, but the spacing is as wide as a six string guitar, so I figure it was designed to be two separate necks.

A friend of mine inherited this steel homemade steel guitar, and brought it to me to try and resurrect.

I need to know what suggested tuning for each neck? I'm thinking an E tuning and a G tuning, ...
