I've built the Dumble modded Princeton using:

1MA volume
500KL treble
250KA middle
1MA bass
1MA master volume

Very smooth open amp.

In other amps I have used from 25KL to 100KL.

The OP said he wants to build a speaker cabinet with rack rails, what FX and rack amp do you recommend. He did not mention a preamp to drive that amp nor building his own equipment.

Octals have a deeper warm tone and people build higher wattage amps such as 100w or 150w amps for PSG, guitar or bass as well.

Instead of Mouser try Antigue Electronic Supply (AES) or Mojotone, many others.

I don't like the raw control or this type of master volume.

But I do like the tone pot on the reverb.

The standby switch could be bad/failing. The rectifier tube is bad.

To stop the pop sound a 100k or greater resistor across the switch.

Mojotone will build that cabinet and Allen Amps already has them listed but not cheap $350.

That 47k resistor is a limiter resistor so the 500kA pot doesn't go lower then 47k ccw.

Are those the modules from Parts Express? How good do they sound? Are they comparable to the class D amps flooding the market?

If you have a combo you can make a tube reverb that is screwed to the bottom of the chassis and add a tank but not worth it in my opinion. ...

I'm one of those guys that sells my amps at $1200 because I don't do marketing to get a larger buyer source.

At $1200 I don't make a cent because it costs that much to build a great tube amp in par ...
