Les, yes these old Buds are super simple since there is only one rod for each string's raise or lower. Just make a map of the which strings have rods and which pedal racks have barrels then pull them ...

With the small Allen screw on the barrel, slide the barrel until it comes in contact with the rack, then tighten it back up. Now the rack will pull the barrel when the pedal is depressed.
