I'm with Baz on this one. In 1954 I took a 6 string guitar course from the U.S. School of Music. Never did they call it a chime, always a harmonic and that's what I've always called them since.

I use an Emmons bar, 3 1/4 by 7/8ths. Probably nearing 40 years old.

I started with 'Day', used that for 7-8 years then switched to Emmons. Don't recall it taking a lot of time to get used to, maybe a week at most.
