Seen him several times ...with Ry Cooder, Wally and a couple of concerts with Jackson Browne ...always first class. Any chance to see him shouldn't be missed

rule out 1932 as Sol didn't record that year and only one 6 side Columbia session in 1931 ...I've always thought that some of the 1933 Brunswicks were in C#m so I'm plumping for '33

By the time he was on the mainland ...around 1916...he was giving his name as Charles Kaimana Diamond. Kaimana is the Hawaiian word for Diamond ! Sometimes he was billed as Charlie Dimond too. My best ...

Don ...his real name was Pauole ( in full actually Robert Kealoha Pauole) . Soon after coming to the mainland in around 1926 he started using Panole .... possibly because Panole was easier for America ...
