Not very often, I have also started using Daddario chromes and they seem to last a long time also reduce the noise of the slide/steel | |

Only contact point aside from the tail piece (anchor point) is maple bridge or bone nut, maybe choking at the nut a v-light file there or look at the saddle.
I have no similar problems with my tricon ... |

I did a tap test with some Ali vs Stainless steel, the Ali was dull & no sustain so I made a nut from stainless. Be warned it is hard work as very hard to fine polish.
