i used my kids 30 year old erector set to build a uickup winder. even had a level winder on it. had to use two motors tho. | |

Jeff; Larry here. I picked up a digital caliper from
e-bay to mark the fret spacing then used a sharpi to pull the lines. |

the fret scale for a steel guitar is taken from the nut to the bridge. yes or no? also, where can i find a fret calculator? ,y fret board is 25.5". with 24 frets. | |

i built an 8-string and wound the pickup myself.
however, if i tap the guitar anywhere, it is picked up and transmitted to the amp. how can i pad the pickup. or how is it done? |

i am using an 8-string home brew steel. (not lap)only 1 problem, with the bone nut i am using, strings
10/14&17 vibrate into the nut making them lower. Help Needed. |

just built a new pickup for my 8 string. 3" bar
magnet / 3700 turns .036 wire. am only getting 1000 ohms. does not sound great. any ideas? |
