Can you tell me the times of the events.

I have the melbay course but I also have some music for an 8th string. I just wanted to know if you can play the music from an 8th string on a six string or if you have to fing 6 string music.

I'm new to the Lap steel I have a 6 string and the songs are 8 string songs. What do I do about the 7th and 8th string notes when I play the songs.
