You won't need to route the pickups, you already have the largest size routes. The other smaller pickups, such as the P90, mini-humbuckers, Gretsch Filtertron, are available in large humbucker route ...

P90's also have much HIGHER OUTPUT than typical Fender-style single coils, you might take that into account, that more signal output, even if there MAY be more hum for some people in some situations, ...
