The ball joints you are looking for are called end mount vs. the more common side mount.

They are- the thread size is 5-40 (I generally use 6-40)

It's definitely strange- I've never seen an all pull w round cross shafts and bellcranks like that nor w changer pillar/pillow blocks like that and lottsa other things in the pics are unusual.

Make sure there is free play in all changes at rest or you might never get it to stay in tune.
