Curious what speaker you are using?
I have a rack mount Steelaire and get plenty of volume through a 4 ohm 12" Black Widow or a JBL k130 8 ohms.

Sounds OK and runs on batteries so it's very portable & easy to use.

I play outside quite bit, but it's not been a problem as I seldom play in tune anyway.
