Thank you all for your input. The progression from D - D7 - G - C is one of them. Are there any more variations. I am using the A6 tuning.

length 34.50" A bit long for the Rick.

Thanks Ray for the info. The one my friend has is a 6 string lap steel. I am sure the 6 string is a lot less than the 8. I have not seen any Excel steels for sale on this Forum lately.
