Same here - I just can't get used to (or very accurate) with finger picks even with lap/console 3/8" string spacing. I'm primarily an under arm guitar player too.

Thumbpick is fine though.

That definitely looks like the Popular Mechanics DIY steel project - and a great job I might add.

This is the tuning that is described with the original article - hope it helps.

Researching into buying a used Carter Uni and I've noticed that changers are either triple raise/lower or 4 up/2 down (unless I'm mistaken).

Wondering if this had to do with the move to BCT in the ...

The Marshall looks like a 1959 head (100 watt).

Compare the dimensions with the cabinet in the link - (H) 10-3/4" x (W) 29" x (D) 8-1/4")

Almost positive that they're using Automatic Double Tracking (ADT) to thicken the fuzz (could be a Maestro FZ-1 - or a VOX Tonebender mkI, mkII,...)

Not much power for Steel - tube rectifier - but guessing it's got great tone for studio.

The late Lonnie Mack used a Magnatone 460 for the (true) vibrato sound.

Looks like the same thing that Glenn posted & has a picture of how it was packaged. Also if you use a switch that has a center off - would mute the midi signal.
