It is a 1979 model. It works fine. I have used it for jams for 4 or 6 hours at a time with no issues.

I've heard some GFI parts will fit. I don't know but maybe you could check on it.

Daniel, as I understand it the late MCI's called Range Expander were welded frames. The earlier models were not. I have an EMCI that is welded and I think all EMCI guitars were welded frames.
