I don't play it as often as I should (just learning). Probably 2 years since I strung them (D8 Stringmaster clone, Elva West), no rust, grime or spilt beer, and they sound good as best I can tell. Tha ...

And Gilmour plays with a conventional guitar pick, another "discrepancy". Btw, the solo in 'Lunatic Fringe by Red Ryder was not a slide guitar but also a lap steel.

I understand (and am/was) where you're coming from. Plastic thumbpicks aren't too troublesome, I like the Dunlop 9023 plastic thumbpicks.
The fingerpicks were a real challenge, and I went thru a bunc ...

White vinegar- put it in an aerosal bottle and spray the affected areas liberally, then let them dry out in a low humidity environment.
Mildew absolutely hates white vinegar, & vice versa!

Sounds terrific, reminds me of 1970s work by the Norwegian guitarist Terje Rypdal. This kind of "ambient" music never sounds dated. Thanks for posting it!

I've tried it. The relatively long scale of a regular guitar makes intonation a bit harder, and the strings are pretty close together.
The biggest drawback in playing lap style chords on a regular p ...

The other is E13sus4 low to high E-G#-D-F#-A-B-C#-E.
