I had a Carter that done that. It turned out to be the nylon tuner on the changer rod. It was very dry dry and made the noise when the pedal was depressed. A drop of oil on the Finger side of the nylo ...

It was just for cosmetic and cleaning reasons. I can see it is not worth the effort.

It's a great guitar but I won't be trying to remove them.

Does anyone have the intro for In The Mood in tab or notation? Glenn Miller version. It's pretty standard version most people play.
If it's tab the tuning doesn't matter.

The prefix is OA not 4A my mistake. It dates to 1990. Thanks for the input.

Serial number is 4A01959802 84C. How would you read that date?

The problem was the cross shaft on the pulls for the 4th and 8th string. It was in a bind and would not return properly.
If you don't suspect the 4th string it could be a real tail chaser if your not ...
