Even though I don't have a Rains guitar at the present, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them or Gary Carpenter. Both are first class. A lot of compliments on tone while playing a Rains.

Just got my first guitar with slots (Mullen G2). When restringing, by far the slots. After that, I don't see any difference. It certainly would not be a deal breaker to me. JMO, Ol' Fred
