You can play a 9th chord by anchoring the back of the bar on the 5th string and slanting the front up two frets on the 2nd string. Play the strings 5, 3 and 2. That gives you the 3rd, b7th and 9th ton ...

I had to shorten my Carter. I just shortened the legs and pedal rods by the same amount and then cut new threads on the pedal rods.

The price you pay should reflect the lower value of a refurbished/refinished instrument. You're not buying an all original instrument and then lowering its value by refinishing.

If it's a good pla ...

Yeah, those unisons happen because of the extra string added with the major six chord tone on it. Like if you added a c# string to an E9 tuning between the E and B strings. On some 12 string set ups ...

I don't think the unisons you're talking about are there on purpose. The fifth string B is there because the C6 face of the tuning requires it. That same note comes up because the E9 face needs to hav ...

Dumb question, possibly unrelated, but has anyone ever done studies to find out exactly why a humbucker doesn't sound like (read: "as good as") a single-coil pickup? Is it the higher induct ...

This is kind of late, but Cindy explains how play the high G string stuff on the E string for those playing with a high E. I'd stick to the standard six string tuning.

If you get an eight string a ...

I've never seen that pickup before either. Since it came from India I'd guess it's from either a British or Australian manufacturer.

I think the fretboard is from a late 1940's Silvertone model 1315 built by Kay. The rough metal work suggests homemade rather than factory built. The woodwork is good. The place where the headstock me ...

I've done it with my Carter legs. A 1/2" rod should be fine. You may not even need a hammer. Just hold the l ...

A volume/tone pedal moves up and down for volume and swivels side to side for tone so it would be a major redesign. It could be converted to a tone pedal by adding a capacitor and rewiring the pot.

I'm no wizard but with a set of C6 strings on there you can retune to several tunings.

These are all low to hi.

A6 C# E F# A C# E
