I believe most Rellogs were built by Musima in Markneukirchen, which was where most DDR music factories were situated.

For a brief period I owned a Rellog lap steel finished in dark grey mother-of ...

Hi; would like to pick your brains ... I’ve just gained this 50’s East German-made lap-steel. Sounds great, original case etc. However the ?bakelite? / ?perspex? fretboard is very warped. And badl ...

There are little ball bearings in a track within the pedal, but a lot of times they get hung up and even fall out. It’s fine if they fall out, and if they are causing binding its better to pull them ...

Cool looking lapsteel. I can't answer the volume pedal question. I just know the pedal is tricky inside.

Thanks Larry. I’m contemplating turning it into a 7-string and tuning it A6. The neck & ...

Hey Chris,
Nice work on the stand. Your build on the lap steel is a beauty! I was wondering what is the wood you used and what is the rotary switch below the bridge? Thanks for sharing
your work. ...

I read a few posts about "stands for lap-steels"; can't locate the post now, but just wanted to show it CAN be done quite cheaply. I bought a budget keyboard stand and made a plywood-table t ...

Seems to me that 36-32-26-23-18-16 would work on an acoustic without fear of warping the neck or pulling up the top. 12 strings usually are built tougher, anyway. I’d change the top two gauges to 1 ...

G6 and A6 are good alternatives, may even have a little more oomph than C6 on an acoustic guitar. Being lazy, I'll tune my Dobro down from G to G6 by lowering the high strings, just the afternoon.
