I have a Comet also. An oahu Tonemaster or similar will have a longer scale length. Your Comet of 22.5" vs 25".

I'll let others explain the pros and cons of that.

The only thing missing is a speaker cab on stage if you have a silent stage and go thru the PA. The modelers typically replace a mic'd sound...not the sensation of a D130 roaring thru your trousers.

Use your bar or similar item to check for equal heights across the strings as you file. Probably a given...but others may have better advice.
