Great to hear NPR announcer Neda Ulaby report this morning on Paul Franklin. But I was immediately put off by her not even getting the name of the instrument right.

Come on, writers and interns! D ...

I never use a compressor in gigging. Doesn't it kind of work against a volume pedal?

Last session I did, the producer said he used a tiny bit of compression in steel. But that is in a recording sit ...

Joshua, I'd stay with your RKR pulling E up to F; and add a RKL to flat the Es to D#.

You got a great deal on a solid but basic steel. I would add stuff to it rather than spend several thousand dol ...

It would be great to have another S 12 available from a current manufacturer.

Hey Mark: I still have your old MSA SD 12 set up in my house as a practice guitar. Thanks again! Chris

Clay, a fine Carter SD 12 with 4 and 5 (I think) recently went for around $3000 here in Rhode Island.

In general, yes, additional pedals and levers raise the price.

My unofficial observation is that there seems to be more new players these days. Prices of S 10s have gone up, at least.

See ...
