In 1985 I bought a 62ri mij (reissue, made in Japan) Tele for about $250. Hard to believe it's now 36 years old. It's the best guitar I've ever owned. The neck pickup went microphonic a few years ago. ...

Hey Ricky, I've driven up and down the Mopac a few times. Had no idea that's what is stood for. Thought it was named after an Indian tribe or something. Makes sense now.

The town of Katy was named for the K[ansas] & T[exas] Railroad. They had a depot in what is now Katy, Texas. Probably more than anyone really wanted to know.
