This Deluxe Reverb is very well made. I bought it in the box. It sounds great. The problem I had was my own doing. I transported in my trunk to a gig. Probably shook loose something in the tube.

Got my Deluxe Reverb back. One of the pre tubes had a short. Replaced both and the hiss is gone.

Yes, I've tried both volume controls 1 to 10 and back a few times (and tone controls). It is occurring from both channels, so it's probably not a pot. Thanks for the suggestion.

Jack, I just looked up the specs on the Blue Marvel: 7.5lbs or 3.4kg. Maybe you're thinking of a 15" speaker. I'm talking about a 12" speaker.
